Counseling is so personal. It’s about connection and it’s about being seen and heard. Let’s be honest, that’s probably the biggest challenge in your life right now – being seen, being heard, being understood and accepted for who you are.
And counseling is all about that. What you need is a licensed counselor who gets YOU, who hears YOU, who validates YOU. What you need is your ideal counselor.

She is real and down to earth. She will tell you her thoughts and encourage you to be honest with yourself. If you are an anxious person and can’t seem to stop your over thinking, go see Dr. Newman!
Without going into the details of why I went to counseling, I will say that it FAR exceeded my expectations. So glad I went, and so thankful that I am where I am - much of it due to the way Dr. Newman was able to really SEE me when I could barely recognize myself. So thankful.
She worked really hard to cater to what I was facing. Dr. Newman is who you see after trying a couple counselors and nothing feels like the right fit.
The best decision I ever made... Dr. Newman is exactly what anyone with anxiety needs!

Seeing Dr. Newman was the best thing I could have done, and the perspective that she gave me was like no other. Becoming a mom was the hardest thing I did. I went from being a free and independent woman to being someone who was depended upon, all the time! And that was a HUGE change for me.
I didn't know how to deal with the shift and with all the pressures, both from my family and those I had put on myself. I didn't even realize that it was a transition until I saw Dr. Newman.
Dr. Newman helped me realize that as people needed different things from me, I needed to adapt, transition, and hold my own boundaries.
She helped me see that I was still the same woman, but that I was going through a different phase of my life.
here are common questions I am asked about counseling
The primary difference between a therapist and a counselor is that, generally speaking, therapists tend to focus more on the past while counselors tend to focus more on the present and the future.
The common goal of all therapists is to relieve suffering (mental health symptoms) and achieve a healthy state of being and functioning. Counselors, on the other hand, tend to be very goal and action oriented, and as such, they help their patients set goals, establish action plans to achieve those goals, and support them along the way.
Through honoring each patient's unique journey and offering unconditional guidance, I strive to instill accountability and motivation. My approach entails exploring your past with the mission to understand your present and help you lead a brighter future.
